TERRAIN
OKANAGAN
Vaseux Creek Outfitters territory covers the southern half of British Columbia’s beautiful
Okanagan Valley. This beautiful area encompasses a huge variety of terrain. You'll be
amazed at the diversity ranging from the sage covered desert floor to snow
capped peaks that tower above the treeline treeline...
DESERT
The southermost portion of the territory is home to Canada's only true desert.
Wide open sage flats surrounded by countless draws and bluffs make for
challenging habitat for to hunt mule deer, birds and coyotes.
CLIFFS
The steep cliffs and bluffs that have made the Vaseux Lake area famous for its
Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep.
SNOW
The mild desert winters, with little snowfall makes wintering easy for our animals, supporting large populations of
mule deer and whitetails. Of coarse, where there are deer you'll find the predators like cougar, lynx and bobcat.
If you're after predators, pray for snow!!!
TIMBER
The dark timber holds many big animals. It can be difficult to hunt thick timber, but our logging industry is healthy here
and the clearcuts provide the opportunity to see the elusive timber dwellers as they feed in the twilight.
ALPINE
There is nothing like hunting in the alpine, above treeline, where you can see forever
and glass for hours, looking for the big bears and bucks that call this home!
